หลักการใช้ Other, Another และ The other
คำว่า other และ another นั้นเป็นคำที่ใช้อธิบายถึงบางสิ่งที่แตกต่างออกไป หรือยังคงเหลืออยู่ หรือถูกเพิ่มเติมเข้ามา โดยจะวางไว้ข้างหน้าคำนาม สำหรับ The other จะมีหลักการใช้ที่แตกต่างออกไปเล็กน้อย

Other จะวางข้างหลัง some, any และ no

- We have no other ideas.
หากใช้ other ร่วมกับคำนามนับได้ที่อยู่ในรูปพหูพจน์และ some หรือ any หรือ no (คำใดคำหนึ่ง) ในกรณีที่เข้าใจตรงกันว่า กำลังพูดถึงคำนามใดอยู่ คุณสามารถละคำนามไว้โดยไม่ต้องกล่าวถึงได้ ในกรณีเช่นนี้ other จะต้องอยู่ในรูปพหูพจน์ แต่ก็เป็นไปได้ที่ในบางครั้งจะใช้เพียงแค่ other เท่านั้นซึ่งมักจะพบไม่บ่อยเท่าใดนัก

Another จะใช้กับคำนามนับได้ที่อยู่ในรูปเอกพจน์ สำหรับคำนามที่นับไม่ได้ ส่วนใหญ่แล้วจะใช้ another ร่วมกับคำลักษณะนามที่เป็นเอกพจน์

หลักการใช้ "The Other"
